Terran Orbital Missile Platform

Ingame Background:
The Terran Missile Platform already existed a jazura ago, but it lacked a missile system. This was due to a hefty debate which system it should receive, as they where developed by different companies. Initial plans envisaged the newly developed Type 4283.2A system, but due to strong lobbying the ageing Type 4282.7F-2 system that is used in most USC capital ships to date shaped up as heavy political competitor. In the end the security council decided on the improved system, but much time was lost. Now both sides blame each other for the long delay that increased the risk of espionage. An independent source claims to have observed large bank transfers to council members known to support one of the sides.
